Camborne Street Guide

Camborne is proud of its status within the Cornwall Mining World Heritage designation. The new 2023 Town Guide is available to download here and the following street guide is to help you find what is on offer in our town streets today:-

Albert Street

is where you will find ‘In a Spin Launderette’

Basset Road

with the Lowenac Hotel at one end leading to a mix of housing & business spaces, with a run of shops at the other end;

Centenary Street

is a main traffic throughfare where 1 of our town hair & beauty businesses can be found.

Chapel Street

is located just behind Commercial Square and you can find the post office parcel collection point, bingo hall and a range of specialist independent businesses & shops.

Church Street

features Aldi on one side & the John Francis Bassett Wetherspons pub & hotel on the other side.

College Street

lies just outside the centre of town and is a mixture of business & housing. The old fire stations has recently been converted into Camborne Business Centre & is now home to many town businesses.

Commercial Square

is at the heart of the town centre and is surrounded by National business, banks and a mix of retail. Lots of benches in the square for a quick breather and chat.

Commercial Street

runs from the corner of Cross Street to Commercial Square. Features Tyacks Hotel, the entrance to John Francis Bassett Hotel and a mix of shops, takeaways and businesses.

Cross Street

starts with the library and features a mix of Camborne Original eateries, shops and businesses, only found in Camborne.

Dolcoath Avenue

is where you can find the Cornwall Council One Stop shop and offices.

Gurneys Lane

has a small row of businesses premises. Currently featuring Feet Matter and Asylum Arts.

New Connexion Street

is where you will find our independent Indian Restaurant. The other side of the street has a first floor hairdressing business.

Rectory Road

is where you will find local schools with the local park and Camborne Rugby Club nearby.

South Terrace

is the location for the town Police Station & Veor Surgery.

Trelowarren Street

is our main shopping street, with a great mix of national, independent and original businesses.

Treswithian Road

starts with Premier Inn & Table Table on one side & Cornish Choughs & Treswithian Stores the other side. This road contains a mixture of housing and businesses leading into the main part of Camborne Town.

Trevenson Street

features the former Red Jackets pub, which was named after the militia who were brought in to deal with the riots in 1873. Trevenson Street is also home to a locksmiths and our town statue of Richard Trevithick, which is located outside the Passmore Edwards building and Council offices.

Trevithick Road

is where you will find Argos, Poundland, Trevithick Market & Trevithick Road car park, as well as the town taxi rank.

Union Street

is where the Bus Station can be found. There is a small group of shops & businesses at Trelowarren Street end & Celtic Estate agents & Clifton Villa Veterinary Surgery at the other.

Wellington Road

features a fish & chip shop amongst the small mix of Camborne independent & original businesses.

Wesley Street

is where you can find Tesco & its petrol filling station at the entrance to the town centre. Camborne Indoor Market & Mad as a Tatter tattoo parlour are on the other side of the street.
