Project A-Void Phase 2 – Transforming the Streetscape of Camborne Town Centre
Consistent with the emerging BID vision for the town, the project will continue to deliver a major transformation to the Camborne streetscape including:
- Grant Scheme – local businesses are able to apply for up to £5,000 of grant, to improve and transform their properties and up to £10,000 with vacant properties. With a focus on filling empty commercial properties, helping pop-ups, scale-ups and start-ups.
- Prosperity Accelerator Partnership – A joined-up working plan to link businesses, developers and education and training providers.
- Branded Quarters & Gateway Marking – This element of the project will create branded zones of Camborne Town centre, linked to both existing and historic uses and see the installation of vibrant welcome signage for Camborne. More information about this project can be found here
Project A-Void Grant Scheme
This will be achieved through the delivery of circa 100 capital grants to business premises owners and/or occupiers to create capital physical improvements to business premises within the Towns Fund Boundary area in Camborne (see below for application and boundary map).
This urban regeneration project will: –
- Produce an enhanced townscape that is more attractive and more accessible to residents, businesses and visitors
- Increase footfall in the town centre, increasing the vitality of the town and the robustness of town centre businesses
- Reduce the numbers of empty shops and businesses within the town centre
- Improve energy efficiency in town centre businesses
- Promote sustainability
- Create healthier working environments
The project will be delivered by BID Camborne, which will administer the scheme, ensuring monies are disbursed in line with the stated objectives of this scheme and criteria of HM Government. Grant applications need to be reviewed by the panel and authorised. Works must not start until your application has been reviewed and you have received a grant offer letter.
