Two Year 10 students from Camborne Science and International Academy have earned praise for the work experience placements they carried out this summer.
Organised by the town’s Business Improvement District (BID) team, Jade, who is interested in care as a profession, worked with Alexandras Community Care team, whilst Jasper’s role with BID included sourcing information for blogs and podcasts.
“Jade fitted in really well, showed a very mature attitude and was eager to learn,” said Nicola Rowe, Registered Manager for the homecare group.
“She showed great time keeping skills and joined in with the office dynamics.”
One of Jasper’s tasks was interviewing Glennie McKinley, a partner and Head of Family at DB Law, a solicitor practice based in Camborne and Penzance.
“Jasper went along to see Glennie in her office and asked her about her career and what she loved about Camborne as part of our Sterling Services series,” said Anna Pascoe, BID Camborne Manager.
“He wrote the interview up afterwards as a blog that was then published on the town’s website. He also visited other businesses, helped record podcasts and acted as an artist assistant to Cosmic who is painting a giant mural in New Connexions Street.
“Jade and Jasper both did well and we wish them all the very best with what they go on to do in the future.”
