It began as a pop-up shop for just a few months and was so popular the Wardrobe Clothing Company – next to Warrens in Trelowarren Street – is now a permanent fixture.
Mother and daughter owners of the shop, Jean Hooper and Sarah Henniker, have committed to run the business for the next three years at least. They stock a range of chic Italian clothing, made in Tuscany, alongside ex-branded items from top high street stores.
The shop is set out with lots of room to display the clothes in stylised ‘wardrobes’. Jean and Sarah are extremely selective about what they sell and this philosophy seems to be working as the clothes are selling so quickly they’re having to restock far more than they expected.
“We chose Camborne because we like the town’s centre – it’s busy, diverse and it has a great footfall,” said Jean. “We started as a pop-up to gauge if the business would work and the fabulously warm welcome and steady stream of customers has convinced us that it will. We’ve already got a number of regulars and are very happy we’re here to stay.”
